About us
2019. My sister started it
She fed cats around Kelburn for neighbours who were away. It began with flyers in letterboxes and grew by word of mouth.
2022. I took it over
I kept the same clients, the same routines and the same notebook. I kept the flyers going too, and the list of clients kept growing.
Now. A growing team, and online booking
We've grown into a small team of feeders, and we now cover 49 suburbs across Wellington. You can book online against real availability, and every visit is recorded in your account.
Kelburn Critter Care began as a neighbourhood business, and it still feels like one. Many people hear about us from a neighbour, or from a flyer in their letterbox.
I have two cats of my own, which is why I'm particular about the details that seem small. Water is changed, not just topped up. The litter tray is properly cleaned. And I check behind the couch before I write “seen and fine” in the log, because a cat that didn't come out isn't the same as a cat that's fine.
These days it's a small team rather than just me. That means a visit doesn't fall through because one of us is unwell, and you'll always know who's coming before they arrive.
I'm careful not to promise anything I can't back up. If you'd like to know what we don't have yet, such as insurance or a veterinary qualification, the FAQ answers it plainly.
